Cookie Policy
How we use cookies
Kbnbs uses a deliberately small set of cookies, grouped into four categories you control from the cookie banner: essential (always on), preferences, analytics and marketing. We never sell data. This page explains each category and what, if anything, we currently set under it. Nothing outside the essential category is switched on until you choose it.
Essential cookies (always on)
Strictly necessary cookies keep you signed in (Supabase authentication cookies) and remember the choices you make on the cookie banner (the kbnbs-consent cookie). Without them, signing in and staying signed in would not work, so they cannot be switched off. They contain no marketing or tracking information.
Preference cookies (optional)
These remember small conveniences on your device so the site behaves the way you left it. They are first-party only and are never used to track you across other websites. We currently store very little under this category, and you can turn it off in the banner at any time; the site still works, it simply remembers less.
Analytics cookies (optional)
Only if you turn Analytics on in the banner do we enable PostHog, an analytics service hosted in the EU, and count which listings and pages get visited. It helps us see which pages are used, where searches return no results, and where people give up in a flow, so we can improve the site. Events are anonymous and never tied to your name or email address, and we never sell them. If you leave Analytics off, none of this runs and the site works exactly the same. (A refresh-deduplication entry may still be kept in local storage on your device so a re-visit does not double-count a listing view; this only runs once Analytics is on.)
Marketing cookies (optional)
Marketing cookies would let us measure whether a campaign or community advert actually reached anyone. They are off by default. We do not currently set any marketing cookies at all — the toggle exists so that your choice is recorded and respected the moment that ever changes.
Location access is a browser permission, not a cookie
The optional "Use my current location" button in the search box is not a cookie and is not covered by the choices above — it is a permission your browser grants, so it is not something we can switch on or off from this banner. We only ask when you tap the button, we ask for approximate location only, and we use it for that single search without storing it. To withdraw it later, tap the padlock or settings icon next to the web address in your browser and set Location back to "Ask" or "Block". Our Privacy Policy explains this in full.
Changing your mind
You can change any of these choices at any time using the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer of every page, which reopens the banner with your current settings. Withdrawing consent stops the relevant cookies immediately for future visits. Location access is separate and is revoked in your browser, as described above.
